We love Bovey Castle. The time we spent there was on of our best experiences in England. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had every need met. Our children were cared for when needed to give us the opportunity to spend time enjoying the castle and our lodge as a couple. It is a classic experience that shouldn't be missed.
Set in the heart of England's largest National Park, Dartmoor, Bovey Castle is surrounded by 368 square miles of unspoilt undulating moorland and Tors.
The stately Bovey Estate was originally the private home of Viscount Hambledon but is today owned by Peter de Savary, the well-known entrepreneur and America's Cup Challenger. De Savary also founded The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle, the St James Clubs Worldwide and the Abaco Club in the Bahamas amongst other luxury lifestyle Clubs and resorts.
Having been fully restored to its former glory during 2003/4, the Castle enjoys stunning views of the ornamental gardens, rivers and moorland. Accommodation on the Estate is found in both the Castle itself and for those looking for more privacy and space, the newly built granite lodges, a short walk from the Castle but individually set within the Estate and within the natural surrounds of mature woodland. Guests enjoy an unprecedented lifestyle where a special camaraderie and fun environment can be found.
